Wayne, We had a Train rear-end other train on the track leading into downtown rail yard. The cloud you see is propylene gas that came from tank car carrying a full load. If had been further west by 100 yards or so it would been right middle of large housing area, and death toll we feared would been very high. Another thing that helped was that there are too very large and very deep creeks that run on both side of tracks that contained a lot of the vapor cloud... When this lit off i was a FF in our ladder about 8 blocks away it felt as if the ladder was going to be blown over by the shock wave... Go to www.iafflocal502.com and look in photo's section for more pics during the day...

i can't imagine what was going through the officers mind while backing up at full speed...besides "car don't fail me now"...

I was watching TV and seen this on Discovery Channel. It was on a show called Destroyed in Seconds. It was in Texas and I think a train hit a propaine tank. I didn't catch it all but one person died in the explosion.
