Irwin Hotel Fire 3/5/2009
Approx 07:20, alarm was struck for a 3rd floor apartment fire at the Irwin Motel. Additional calls were reporting 2nd apartment off. Police on scene initiating evacuation.
Interior attack initiated by Irwin-57 which encountered a flashover, North Irwin-12, and Circleville-8 crews followed shortly after. Conditions quickly deteriated and all units went defensive. All occupants were accounted for.
Cause of the fire was a reported grease fire that the tenant attempted to put out with water before calling the fire dept.
